Football

Football is a team sport that is primarily played between two teams of eleven players each. The objective of the game is to score goals by getting a spherical ball into the opposing team’s net. Players mainly use their feet to control and pass the ball, but they can also use other parts of their body, except for their arms and hands, which are typically reserved for the goalkeepers.

The sport has various forms, including association football (commonly known as soccer in some countries), American football, Canadian football, and Australian rules football, each with its own set of rules and playing styles. Association football is the most widely played and followed version globally, governed by the Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA). Football matches typically take place on a rectangular field with a goal at each end, and a game consists of two halves of play. The sport promotes teamwork, strategy, and physical fitness and is celebrated for its cultural significance and impact worldwide.
